Welcome to school year 2016-2017! I hope that all your children grow and develop in the coming year and make progress academically, socially and emotionally. Let’s look forward to positive changes so that, at the end of the academic year, they are different, better versions of themselves. However, we all know that that sometimes doesn’t happen.
If you are new here, welcome. You might be perplexed. Here, you will learn:
– what to ask
– who to ask for help
– how to for help
– available remedies
– how to create a record to support your claims
Your child might need an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or the that was IEP developed for the coming year isn’t sufficient to help your child make progress or the school or class your child is in is not the right fit that will allow your child to learn and grow. There are limited remedies, and I’ll let you know what those are.
If you have questions and concerns, this is the time of year to start learning your rights. Please explore my site to learn more about your legal tool box. I’ll spend the next few weeks blogging about your basic rights. It’s overwhelming to be a parent, but I promise you that help is available. So start the new academic year with a deep, cleansing breath and start learning about how we can work together to help your family and your child.
